WALKING
For those who “wear wings on their feet” Nordic Walking has currently become
one of the most fashionable sporting activities. This sport originates
in Finland and is carried out by walking outdoors in the middle
of nature with special walking poles. It is a very easy, natural
and effective way of weight-control while at the same time offering
numerous physical and psychological health benefits, strengthening
muscle tone and reducing neck and shoulder tension, suitable for
people of all ages and differing fitness levels. It also improves
the health of your heart and lungs thereby burning fat and improving
muscle tone of arms, back, shoulders, chest and legs.
But even more importantly it is really pleasurable, relaxing and
inexpensive, suitable for both the social walker enjoying the outdoors
in company, to the elite athlete needing specific sports cross training.
The great thing about Nordic Walking is that it can be carried out
everywhere but obviously best results are obtained away from the
city centre: for this reason Cesenatico is particularly suitable
for Nordic Walking due to its parks, kilometres of sandy beaches,
wide tree-lined roads and pine-wood paths, not forgetting the surrounding
countryside and nearby hills, both of which can be easily reached
on foot or, within a few minutes, by bicycle or car.
